Sales exceeded $8.5 million in the Latin American region for the second quarter, significantly impacting its long-standing market share with several important strategic alliances, projects and expansions in Colombia (Compartel/Coldecon & IPC and Internexa), Venezuela (CVG Telecom), Chile (Telmex) and Bolivia (ENTEL). |

A leading nationwide provider and distributor of wireless and Internet services and call centers in Colombia, has chosen Shiron's products and services as the platform for last-mile IP data connectivity and other applications for turnkey project implementation of COMPARTEL Northern Region. Following an international competitive tender and bid process, the Coldecon Consortium signed an agreement with Compartel, an executive branch of the Ministry of Communications of Colombia, to deploy broadband connectivity to 2,224 schools and public institutions in the northern part of the country. The network will use Shiron's InterSky platform in various technology combinations for the access and backhaul portions of the project. |

IPC partnership was formed to specifically address the agreement with the Ministry of Communications of Colombia, to deploy broadband connectivity to 2,133 public institutions including public schools, municipal governments, medical centers and agro-business centers – choosing Shiron;s technology to do so. |

The Compartel project is a five-year initiative to provide broadband telecommunications access to public institutions in Colombia. The project involves providing high-speed Internet service together with support and personal computers for local municipalities, schools and hospitals. |

CVG Telecom has chosen Shiron Satellite Networks to provide the first broadband multi-satellite platform for Venezuela,, with enough capability to provide continental coverage in the region. “Through Shiron’s sophisticated technology CVG Telecom will not only have the capability to meet rural communications needs, but also it will serve as a bridge to all emerging countries with a need for IP technology such as VoIP, IP data, IP video and Internet access.,“ said Julio Duran, President of CVG Telecom. The platform will manage three transponders located in different satellites and in Ku and C bands, making IP applications available to government entities and enterprises alike. |
