Partnership Enables Successful Cellular Deployment in Colombia
Miami, FL – August 22, 2006 - Shiron Satellite Communications Ltd., a global provider of advanced broadband satellite solutions and Verso Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRSO), a global provider of next generation network solutions, announced today the successful completion of interoperability tests between Verso and Shiron InterSKY 2-Way Satellite IP Broadband platform. The companies also announced the successful joint deployment of a GSM Backhaul over Satellite solution for a leading cellular operator in Colombia.
Shiron Satellite Communications offers proven two-way broadband satellite communication solutions that are deployed worldwide. As a result of the successful interoperability tests and regional deployment, as well as the establishment of the Cellular-Over-Satellite alliance, Verso and Shiron have extended their reach in the market with their field proven GSM solutions. Verso’s GSM compression and optimization solutions, when combined with Shiron’s InterSKY RBOD (“Real-Time Bandwidth-On-Demand”) reduce bandwidth requirements by approximately 65% when compared with traditional GSM over Satellite implementations.
